Steps for Registration
Registration Tutorial
The following steps only apply to those who have not already been assigned login credentials. If you have already been provided with your login information you can skip this step. **One note to those who have been provided their login credentials by NAR: upon logging into the test suite the first time after registration, you must change your password. The password must be at least 6 characters.
These steps will quickly walk you through setting up an account so you can test your server for compliance.
- Start by clicking "New Registration"
- Now fill in your information in the different text boxes. Keep in mind you must have entries in each text box to complete registration. Also, your password must be at least 6 characters. After entering all of your information, click "Continue With Registration"
- On the next page, you must select your MLS or select that you are a vendor. You will have to prove later that you belong to this MLS or vendor.
- The registration process is complete. You can now configure and test your server!
Steps for Testing
Test Tutorial
These steps will quickly walk you through testing your account for compliance as well as submission of those results.
- You must first be logged in to test.
- After logging in, you must configure access to your RETS server. This can be accomplished by clicking the "Run Test" button. Then enter your server url, your server username, your server password, and finally selecting your version of RETS.
- Once you have configured your server, you can begin testing by clicking "Submit Test"
- To view the results of your test, you must first be acknowledged by NAR. You must prove that you are who you say you are and that you belong to the association or board that you claim to be. Contact Andrew Tillman with questions regarding testing access.
- At this point, you can view your test results by clicking "Reports." The reports page will show you a list of your different tests as well as the result of those tests. If your server has been tested as RETS compliant, you can then submit those results to NAR.
- Your compliance testing is complete! After your test(s) have been completed and approved, that's it!
FAQ
-
I am having problems logging in.
If you have registered and are still having problems logging in, please contact compliance@rets.org with your username.
-
I am having problems using the compliance tool, who can I contact?
If you have already viewed the tutorial, please contact compliance@rets.org. Include your telephone number in case we need to contact you directly.
-
The tester can't access my RETS server, or I don't know my RETS server information.
You will need to speak with whomever creates accounts on your RETS server and get your credentials. The URL to access it should look something like http://demo.crt.realtors.org:6103/rets/login and is specific to your server.
-
I ran the test and passed, what do I do now?
Congratulations, your server passed full compliance. At this point, there is nothing further to do. If that changes, we will be sure to update you.
-
I ran the test and never received an update or it didn't fully finish!
Please contact compliance@rets.org providing as much detail as possible. Include your phone number so we can call you. Once we can diagnose the problem, we will be able to provide you better direction with the next step(s).
-
I ran the test and it says I failed!
This test should have indicated which part of the test your server failed. More than likely this is a configuration or behavioral issue with your server. You should download the test report and provide that to your system support staff and/or vendor.
